It all started when…

local Spokane Midwife, Birth Doula, & Birth Doula Trainer, Tamy Roloff, decided in 2002 that she needed a safe place for her clients and past clients to gather for support, connection, and fun. Clients were requesting it (Thank you forever, Teresa and Miranda)!

After a few breaks we began meeting again in 2023. To better meet the needs of the mothering individuals in the community and to be able to reach out to women throughout the U.S., and the world, MAMAS moved to a virtual format In 2024. Meetings are every Friday from 1-2pm Pacific Standard Time on Zoom and led by Tamy in a group coaching format.

Tamy focuses on the strengths of women and mothers of all ages and believes that we are all whole, complete, resourceful, and creative. In true coaching style we discuss the topics that are on your mind and that are important to women and individuals mothering. Tamy asks the questions that remind us that we know the answers for our own lives and emphasizes that our story, when we feel inspired to share it, may remind someone else that they know the answers for their own life too.

These are a some of the topics regularly brought up, though we are not limited to these: mothering, careers, parenting styles and theories, growing community, relationships, sex after babies, domestic violence and resources for those experiencing it, mothering adult children, schooling, adult education, food as our medicine, the environment, teaching children about nature, finding community and support in an often distant and dysfunctional world - where it can be hard to find “your people”. Everyone is invited to share their stories, vent frustrations, make new connections, and ask for and receive others’ perspectives.

We invite mothers of all ages and stages of life because we know we need one another and the wisdom and experience of all ages. We embrace diversity and inclusion and welcome all who would like to attend. Feel free to come in your PJs or leave off your camera!
